I redeveloped Tokyo Weekender WordPress theme from scratch, using custom post types and custom fields rather than plugins. Page speed optimization was at the center of the process. I decided to separate mobile and desktop front-end code to further speed up the pages.
The result? Traffic increased by 60% and Tokyo Weekender is now ahead of competition in terms of SEO/Page Speed optimization.
